Chloe & Choice (West Sussex)

ChloeAndChoice1I bought choice for £1 back in March, he was diagnosed with KS and signed off by insurance for loss of use for hind lameness. There wasn’t much that could be done for him, but I was determined to give him a chance.

When I first bought him home you’d run your hands down his back and the muscle spasms were prominent everywhere, he was in a lot of discomfort. My first thing was to get him comfortable, he had and still has regular physiotherapy and Bowen therapy to help with relaxation. Within a few weeks he was no longer lame.

I got a behaviourist involved as he was not good with saddle or the association of the saddle. I worked with the behaviourist for two months and his movement and his pain improved but we began to plateau and he wasn’t improving or allowing a rider. That’s when she recommended Sue.

ChloeAndChoice2I didn’t think twice about contacting Sue and we arranged a time to come and see my boy. I took part in the healing and it was an emotional process for us both and I learned more about him and from that moment our trust together was unbreakable.

A few days after Sue came we lunged him in the saddle and there was no reaction on either rein when before there was a lot of bucking and broncing. The vet was now able to make a treatment plan for him and we were able to treat his back and his hocks.

From that day on his whole demeanour changed. His personality came out, he became happy, he allowed me to sit on him. We worked with his “pit crew” to ensure he would get better. The more we worked the stronger we became. The vet, physio and everyone that knew him before cannot believe the difference in him. He’s now in full ridden work, schooled and is happy hacking. This time a few months ago I would have never of dreamed to be where we are today.

I truly believe what Sue did that day helped him understand that he’s in good hands and he’s okay. I wouldn’t be where I am without Sue and I cannot thank her enough now that I’m making memories with my perfect boy ❤️
